Borussia Dortmund have decisively secured the signature of Greek international Giannis Konstantelias, finalising a contract extending through to 2030. The transfer deal, valued at a guaranteed €26 million with an additional €6 million in performance-related add-ons, brings the total package close to €30 million. Dortmund have also included a strategic 15% sell-on clause, underscoring their confidence in the young winger’s future market value.
The speed and determination with which Dortmund acted to complete this transfer is striking. Reports from German Football News revealed that Dortmund had reignited their pursuit of Konstantelias only last week, highlighting the club’s urgency to lock down the promising 23-year-old talent before rivals could intervene. Such swift negotiation and finalisation reflect Dortmund’s clear intent to strengthen their squad with dynamic, emerging players.
Konstantelias, who arrives from PAOK, expressed his enthusiasm and readiness to embrace the challenge ahead. “I am very much looking forward to playing for Borussia Dortmund in future. BVB is a great club and I will give my all to be successful here,” the Greek international stated upon signing. His commitment signals a promising addition to Dortmund’s attacking options, with the club banking on his pace and skill to make an immediate impact in the Bundesliga.
This marquee signing not only enhances Dortmund’s roster but also demonstrates the club’s aggressive recruitment strategy as they seek to maintain competitiveness domestically and in Europe. With Konstantelias now on board, Dortmund are poised to inject fresh energy and versatility into their attacking lineup.
