Gabriel Martinelli among the surprise targets of Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

Gabriel Martinelli, Arsenal winger, has become an unexpected target for Al-Hilal, a club in the Saudi Pro League, which has included the Brazilian in a shortlist of three players as it seeks to strengthen its attacking line. The news comes at a time when Martinelli’s future in London appears uncertain, especially with the increasing interest in transfers.

The 25-year-old has drawn significant attention during the summer transfer window, but his preference has always been to continue his career in Europe. However, Al-Hilal’s financial power could force Arsenal and Martinelli to make an important decision if the Saudi club decides to move forward with a concrete offer.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Martinelli is one of three wingers under consideration by Al-Hilal, alongside Chelsea’s Pedro Neto and a third player yet to be revealed. Romano emphasizes that while Martinelli prefers a European club for the next chapter of his career, a substantial offer from Al-Hilal could change the course of the situation.

Al-Hilal is looking for reinforcements in attack, especially with the possible departure of Malcom, as reported by GOAL. Martinelli has already rejected other approaches, including a proposal from Galatasaray, even with Arsenal willing to consider a sale under the right circumstances.

At the moment, Arsenal’s position is interesting, as Martinelli faces increased competition following the arrival of Christos Tzolis. Moreover, both he and Ethan Nwaneri were left out of the squad for the FA Community Shield. Despite this, Mikel Arteta stated that both continue to be important players for the team.

Although Martinelli prefers to remain in Europe, Al-Hilal has the financial capability to change this narrative with a significant offer. Arsenal is in no rush to sell the player at a low price, but if Al-Hilal presents a proposal far superior to what European clubs are willing to offer, it could allow the London club to finance the acquisition of another elite striker. Martinelli’s speed, dribbling ability, and experience in the Premier League make him a valuable asset, and his departure would pose a risk to the team.

At this moment, the outcome of this situation depends more on the value of Al-Hilal’s proposal than on Arsenal’s desire to sell, which makes the situation even more intriguing.
