Juventus close in on Kolo Muani and Jhon Lucumi with Carnevali leading final talks

Juventus are on the brink of sealing high-profile signings of Randal Kolo Muani and Jhon Lucumi as the club accelerates its transfer activity ahead of the deadline. The Serie A giants are finalizing details that could see both players join the Bianconeri before the end of the month, with negotiations now focused on the last contractual nuances.

The pursuit of France international forward Randal Kolo Muani is nearing completion, with Juventus poised to surpass €40 million in total compensation to Paris Saint-Germain. The French capital club initially demanded €50 million, but Juventus are strategically structuring the deal with bonuses and a sell-on clause to bridge the remaining financial gap. Sources reveal that the extensive mediation led by Giovanni Carnevali and Frederic Massara played a crucial role in thawing tensions from last year’s stalled talks, paving the way for renewed progress. Crucially, Kolo Muani’s own eagerness to join Juventus remains a decisive factor, giving the club a significant edge in the negotiations.

Parallel discussions concerning Colombian defender Jhon Lucumi are also advancing. Lucumi has reportedly sidelined offers from Turkish giants Galatasaray and Besiktas, prioritizing his commitment to Juventus. A potential sale from Bologna could inject fresh momentum into these talks, a topic recently addressed between Carnevali and Bologna’s Claudio Fenucci during the Lega assembly.

Meanwhile, Juventus’ goalkeeping options are under intense evaluation as Emiliano Martinez remains a target but with uncertainty looming. Coach Luciano Spalletti is willing to wait a few more days for the Argentine shot-stopper, yet time constraints have prompted Juventus to ramp up contact with alternatives. Guglielmo Vicario is emerging as a strong candidate, eager to return to Italy and reunite with his former Italy national team coach. A loan deal with an option to buy around €15 million is reportedly on the table. Vicario’s situation is complicated by his exclusion from Roberto De Zerbi’s plans at Tottenham, where he also skipped the pre-season tour due to a minor ankle issue.

Additionally, Zion Suzuki is on Juventus’ radar, valued at a minimum of €30 million. The Japanese goalkeeper is also attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa, adding urgency to Juventus’ decision-making process.

As Juventus intensifies its recruitment drive, these strategic negotiations highlight the club’s ambition to reinforce critical areas of the squad with top-tier talent before the transfer window closes.
