In the latest outing for Manchester United, young prodigy Benjamin Sesko shone as the star under pressure. With a decisive goal, the Slovenian forward secured a 1-0 victory over Everton, further demonstrating his talent, even coming off the bench. The Red Devils’ manager, Michael Carrick, did not hold back in praising the player, highlighting his exemplary attitude and the progress he has shown in recent weeks.

Sesko, who arrived at Old Trafford for £66 million, has been a key player in the team’s victories, scoring three goals in the last four matches. Despite his importance, the 22-year-old forward has yet to secure a spot in the starting eleven under Carrick’s leadership. However, this situation appears not to have affected his confidence or determination to contribute to the team. “I understand why everyone talks about it and makes it a big topic, but the truth is that I have a very good relationship with Ben,” Carrick stated. “There’s no problem between us. He obviously wants to play, but I can’t help but praise the way he’s been working and his attitude when he comes on and does what he did again.”

The coach also highlighted the progress that Sesko has been making, indicating that the player’s development is a priority. “We’ve had some really good conversations and he’s in a really good place. Part of us is helping to give him the necessary steps to develop and grow as a player. Sometimes they are small steps, other times they are bigger ones, and he has been making huge strides recently. It’s great to see him like this.”

In addition to Sesko, Carrick also emphasized the performance of goalkeeper Senne Lammens, who secured Manchester United’s first clean sheet away from home in the league since March. “For me, a goalkeeper has to be reliable, trustworthy. Instead of creating chaos, you want him to remove the chaos and calm things down. I think Senne does that very well,” said Carrick, underscoring the importance of a solid defense.

For his part, Everton manager David Moyes acknowledged that his team’s attempts to trouble Lammens with a series of corners in the second half did not have the desired effect. The defense of Manchester United, led by a confident Lammens, managed to maintain the lead, securing three important points in the team’s journey in the Premier League.

With Carrick maintaining his unbeaten run over six games and the players’ confidence high, the expectation is that Manchester United will continue to display attractive and effective football, climbing further up the table. The future looks promising, especially with talents like Benjamin Sesko emerging and making their mark.
