Mohamed Salah holds Besiktas waiting as he weighs next career move

Besiktas remain in suspense as Mohamed Salah deliberates over their final contract proposal. The Liverpool icon, who parted ways with the Reds this summer after an illustrious nine-year tenure featuring 442 appearances and a staggering 257 goals, has yet to commit to the Turkish giants.

Now a free agent, the 34-year-old forward is taking time to consider his next move following Egypt’s 2026 World Cup campaign. Besiktas, led by club president Serdal Adali, have positioned themselves as the frontrunners in the race to secure Salah’s signature. Adali confirmed to Turkish media that the club is awaiting a response after submitting their conclusive offer. “We told Salah and his agent that we expect them to inform us of their decision shortly,” Adali stated. “The decision is now on the player's side, and we expect a response soon.”

Despite Besiktas being reportedly Salah’s preferred destination, the Egyptian superstar is not without other suitors. Among the alternatives on the table is a tempting offer from MLS outfit Kansas City, highlighting the competitive nature of his recruitment.

The football world now watches intently as Salah weighs his options, with Besiktas poised to add another legendary figure to their ranks—if only the forward decides to embrace the challenge.
