Kylian Mbappe, the star of world football, finally sees a light at the end of the tunnel after a long and complicated legal battle with his former club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Over the past twelve months, the situation that pitted the French prodigy against the French giant became a true saga, marked by allegations of unpaid bonuses that culminated in a court ruling in favor of Mbappe.

The legal battle reached a dramatic conclusion, with the Tribunal Preud’homme deciding that the 27-year-old player is entitled to a substantial compensation of €61 million. Although PSG initially reserved the right to appeal the ruling, the pressure and the need to conclude a process that had dragged on for too long led the club to choose not to proceed with the appeal. In an official statement, PSG stated that “for reasons of responsibility and to put an end to a procedure that had already lasted too long, the club decided not to prolong this litigation.”

Now, Mbappe can breathe a sigh of relief with the certainty that he will receive exactly €60.9 million. This amount is composed of several categories of payment: €36.6 million corresponding to the last signing bonus; €17.25 million corresponding to salaries for April, May, and June 2024; €1.725 million for holiday pay; €1.5 million in ethical bonuses for the months of April, May, and June 2024; and finally, €150,000 gross for paid holidays, also related to the ethical bonus for the same months.

With this issue resolved, Mbappé can finally leave behind a tumultuous chapter of his career and focus on what really matters: his performance on the pitch. The forward, who went through a less positive phase during PSG’s recent defeat to Osasuna, is determined to regain his form. The next challenge comes on Wednesday, when Real Madrid faces Benfica in the second leg of the Champions League knockout stage, a crucial moment that could be a turning point for the player.

Mbappé’s situation is not just a financial matter, but an opportunity for personal and sporting rebirth. The pressure of a prolonged litigation has now lifted, allowing him to fully concentrate on his sporting ambitions and the pursuit of success in European competition. Expectations are high, and the eyes of millions will be on his performance at the Bernabéu, where Mbappé’s future may shine even more brightly.
