Pressure is mounting for Tottenham, who are preparing for a crucial clash against Fulham this Sunday, with an urgent need to secure points in the Premier League. Igor Tudor, the new head coach of the team, revealed that despite the seriousness of the situation, he has not dared to mention the word “relegation” to his players. However, the truth is that the London club is experiencing a genuine battle for survival in the top tier of English football.

“No, I never mentioned that, but not because it is something to fear. It’s a dangerous word,” Tudor stated, addressing Tottenham’s alarming situation, as they sit just four points above the relegation zone following a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Arsenal. The new coach, who took over the team after the departure of Thomas Frank, is focused on results and admits that the style of play may need to be sacrificed at this critical moment. “We need to be smart to understand the moment and how to earn points, even if we don’t look at the style,” he added.

With only one league victory since the beginning of December, Tudor emphasizes that the priority is to achieve results. “It’s a matter of life or death, if I can say that, in sporting terms. How we will get those points, who knows how?” Tottenham now faces a strong opponent in Fulham, who, after a victory against Sunderland, has risen to the top of the table. “A good team with a coach who has been there for a long time, a very serious team and always difficult to beat,” Tudor described about his upcoming opponent, Marco Silva.

In just two weeks at the helm of the team, Tudor has already admitted that the task is more challenging than he expected. “Probably yes. I agree. It’s very tough, but as I said before, I don’t change my mind. The daily work and focus on everything we need to do — physical condition, mental condition, performance — are crucial, while we await the return of injured players.”

The list of injuries for Tottenham is extensive, but there is good news on the horizon, as Pedro Porro and Kevin Danso are fit for this weekend’s game. The pressure is mounting, and the club’s future in the Premier League depends on how the team performs on the pitch. With the fate of the season at stake, fans hope that Tudor can guide the Spurs out of the danger zone and back to winning ways.
