Carlos Alcaraz does not hide it: there are two weapons of Jannik Sinner that he would love to adopt for his game! After the impressive transformation of the Italian, who made history by dominating Indian Wells and Miami without losing a set, the young Spaniard reveals what fascinates him most about his direct rival on the way to the Monte Carlo Masters final.

Jannik Sinner, currently world number 2, is not just a rising talent – he is a true phenomenon in constant evolution. After the defeat against Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open, Sinner perfected his offensive play and transformed his serve into one of his most solid weapons. Now, with an almost unbeatable serve and a brutal ability to switch from defence to attack, the Italian dominates the clay and leaves opponents in panic.

Carlos Alcaraz, ATP ranking leader and top seed in Monte Carlo, does not hesitate to praise his rival and reveal what he would like to incorporate into his own game. In exclusive statements, the Spaniard highlighted: “There are only two things, to be honest. The transition he makes from defence to attack is impressive, especially the way he approaches the ball and becomes aggressive.” Alcaraz emphasises the speed and precision with which Sinner hits the “sweet spot” of the racket, a detail that makes all the difference in points.

But it doesn’t stop there. Sinner’s serve is another key piece that impresses the Spaniard: “His serve has improved a lot in the last six months. It is clearly a weapon that is defining him.” And the numbers prove this brutal evolution: from a stable serve at the beginning of his career, with 58.1% of first serves and 74.5% of points won, Sinner has come to dominate with higher rates and an average of 70 aces at the Miami Open, as well as having already scored 13 aces in just three matches at the Monte Carlo Masters.

The Italian’s offensive style, which approaches the baseline and attacks the ball early, reduces opponents’ reaction time and forces decisive errors. This “hyper-offensive” is one of the reasons why Sinner is becoming a true threat on the circuit, particularly on clay, where he is still seeking his first major title.

Despite the rivalry, there is also mutual inspiration. Alcaraz noted that Sinner has started to incorporate the “dropshot” – a signature move of the Spaniard, known for its precision and ability to catch opponents off guard. “I’ve seen Jannik using more ‘dropshots’ and he’s doing very well. It seems like it’s something natural for him now,” said Alcaraz, with a hint of humour: “Has he been watching my videos to learn?”

Sinner’s coach, Simone Vagnozzi, confirmed this evolution to Sky Sports Italy, explaining that the Italian is learning when and where to use the “dropshot”, especially on the backhand. “There is still room to improve and add more variety, but it is a process that takes time. No one changes in two weeks, and Jannik is the first to want to improve.”

With both prodigies on their way to the Monte Carlo semi-finals, the tennis world is on tenterhooks to see the much-anticipated duel between Alcaraz and Sinner. Two young giants who are redefining the game on clay and promise an unforgettable spectacle.

This clash represents more than just a match; it is the battle of the new generations, where each point could dictate the course of the season and consolidate who will be the next dominator of the ATP circuit. Get ready for an explosive duel, with Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner showing why they are the brightest stars in current world tennis.
