Benfica is on the verge of taking a decisive step in its pursuit of one of the most promising talents in Italian football: Lorenzo Lucca. The financial situation of Napoli, which has invested significantly in Lucca, with a total of nine million euros for the loan and 26 million for the mandatory purchase, complicates the scenario. The Italian club prefers a definitive exit to balance the books, aiming for a figure around 30 million euros. Corriere dello Sport confirmed that negotiations are ongoing, with three possible scenarios under discussion: a simple loan, a loan with an option to buy, or a mandatory purchase. Each of these options could shape Lucca’s future and that of Benfica itself.
But Benfica’s movements are not limited to Lucca. The club is also negotiating with Rio Ave to secure the signing of André Luiz, a promising right winger. While the Vila do Conde club is demanding 15 million euros, the Eagles are trying to negotiate the inclusion of performance-related clauses to reduce the initial investment. On the other hand, Obrador’s future at Benfica is uncertain. The left-back, who joined the club last pre-season from Real Madrid for 5 million euros, may be on his way to Torino as early as January. Blocked by Dahl and now also by José Neto, Obrador has attracted the interest of the Italian club, which had already attempted to sign him at the beginning of the season. With only one appearance for Benfica’s first team, the young Spanish Under-21 international has seen his playing time limited, which could lead to an early departure.
