FC Porto is counting down to one of the most anticipated matches of the league, where they will face Rio Ave this Sunday at 8:30 PM. While the main team is preparing intensively, coach Francesco Farioli is making a bold move by calling up young talents from the B team, in a strategy that promises to shake up both training sessions and the match itself.
On Thursday morning, the Jorge Costa Sports Training and Development Centre (CTFD) was the stage for another training session, where Farioli did not hesitate to integrate promising players Luís Gomes and Tiago Andrade. Both youngsters, who have been shining in the dragons’ B team, join Dinis Rodrigues, Gabriel Brás, and André Oliveira, who had already participated in Wednesday’s training, reinforcing the idea that the club’s future may be in good hands.
As for the injury report, the situation is not entirely favorable. Martim Fernandes continues to follow a treatment and gym training regimen, while Nehuén Pérez and Jakub Kiwior are undergoing conditional training. The list of absentees does not stop there, as Samu is under post-operative observation and Luuk de Jong is undergoing treatment that will keep him off the pitch for some time.
With the new training dynamics and the inclusion of promising youngsters, FC Porto seems determined to renew its approach and inject new energy into the team. Anticipation is growing as the decisive moments of the season approach, and fans are eager to see how Farioli’s strategy will translate on the field. The dragons return to training on Friday morning, again at Olival, with the hope that each young call-up can be a key piece in the quest for more victories.
