Newcastle United is intensifying its interest in young Italian defender Giorgio Scalvini from Atalanta, according to reports from Italy. The Premier League team has reportedly contacted the player's representatives in an attempt to explore the possibility of a deal, although it has not yet established communication with the Italian club.

As revealed by Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio, Newcastle has renewed its interest in Scalvini, a center-back who has already made a name for himself in Serie A. The player is under contract with Atalanta until the summer of 2028 and has recently switched agents, now being represented by Ali Barat of Epic Sports after previously being with Tulio Tinti of TMP Soccer. At present, Atalanta values Scalvini at around €40 million, a figure that Newcastle is considering, especially after having attempted to sign him last summer.

Since his debut in the senior team, Scalvini has accumulated impressive experience, with 137 competitive matches, of which 113 were in the Italian league. The defender made his debut for the Italian national team at the age of 19, establishing himself as one of the brightest prospects in his position.
