Alvarez's situation is ironic, given that he was the one who signed a contract with a release clause of 500 million euros, which makes his transfer extremely complicated, especially for a Barcelona that is facing financial difficulties. Although there has also been interest from Arsenal, the Gunners are hesitant to pay such a high amount for a player who scored only 20 goals in 49 games last season, with just eight of those in La Liga.
