Crysencio Summerville has become the most sought-after name in the English transfer market, but he has made it clear that he will only consider a move to Manchester United this summer, ignoring strong interest from Liverpool. The potential signing of the West Ham winger seemed to be Plan B for the Reds to address the likely departure of Mohamed Salah, who has been linked with moves to Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer.
Liverpool has already secured Spanish player Víctor Muñoz from Osasuna to strengthen their flanks, but they are still looking for more depth and attacking quality. The transfer to Old Trafford, however, is far from certain. Journalist Fabrizio Romano clarified over the weekend that the future of the Dutchman largely depends on the status of Marcus Rashford at United. Romano explained: “We had reports in the last 24 hours about Manchester United being in advanced talks to sign Crysencio Summerville, or starting talks. What I know is this: Manchester United's focus is on midfielders. They want to strengthen the midfield.” The journalist also added: “Regarding Summerville, they appreciate the player, he is being considered, but there are no negotiations ongoing, neither between clubs nor with agents. If there are developments, I will let you know. But at this moment, there are no active talks with Crysencio Summerville. He is a player under consideration, but we also need to understand what happens with Rashford.
