Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami on serious charges of rape and sex trafficking. The brothers, known social media influencers, were captured by federal authorities in the United States on Saturday, in an operation based on a request for extradition from the United Kingdom.
According to the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service, Andrew Tate, 39, faces seven new charges of rape, three for organizing or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three for actual bodily harm, and 19 related to indecent images of minors and extreme pornography. Tristan Tate, 38, is charged with one sexual offense, two rapes, and three offenses for organizing or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation. These charges relate to events allegedly occurring between July 2010 and August 2017, according to the CPS report.

Malcolm McHaffie, head of the CPS special crime division, commented: “We have decided to prosecute Andrew and Tristan Tate for new crimes, including rape, conspiracy or facilitation of trafficking for sexual exploitation, and offenses related to indecent images of minors.” He added that this decision came after receiving a new set of evidence from Bedfordshire police, raising the total number of alleged victims to seven.
The Tate brothers, advocates of a hypermasculine image and with millions of followers, were already wanted in the UK, where they face 21 criminal charges in a previous investigation. Andrew Tate is facing ten charges, including rape, bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for profit, related to three alleged victims. Tristan Tate faces 11 charges, also including rape, bodily harm, and human trafficking, relating to one victim. Both deny all allegations.

Recently, a high court decision rejected the Tates' request to learn the identities of their accusers. Additionally, the brothers were detained in Romania in December 2022 in cases involving human trafficking, rape, and forming an organized criminal group.
