Arteta challenges players to leave if they can’t handle the pressure of the club.

Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal strategist, has issued a powerful warning to his players in the midst of the Premier League title race: if they cannot handle the “noise and bullets” that come with the championship battle, they should consider changing clubs. This blunt statement comes at a critical moment as the Gunners prepare for an explosive clash against Tottenham, where their credentials as title contenders will be severely tested, especially following a disappointing surrender of a two-goal lead in their recent match against Wolves, which ended in a draw.

Arsenal’s journey this season, which has kept them at the top of the table, is remarkable, but the pressure is mounting. Arteta and his team are facing intense criticism, being labeled as “bottlers” after dropping crucial points. With only two wins in their last seven league matches, external pressure is beginning to weigh heavily. Addressing concerns about whether his players are ready to face adversity, Arteta was clear: “Ask them: do you want to be part of the noise? If not, they can do something else. Or do they want to be Arsenal? For 10, 15 years, everyone has asked us to fight for the title again, and now that we are here, what happens? Don’t they want the noise?”

Arteta emphasized that the noise and pressure are an integral part of the competition and that the team must learn to deal with it in order to achieve their goals. “We have to do what we have to do. I don’t think that’s going to change for anyone. In the end, you have to win the next game, and if you do, you’ll be in a much stronger position, and that’s the only thing we can control.”

Meanwhile, the situation of Martin Ødegaard, who has been facing a series of injuries that have kept him sidelined, was also addressed. The Norwegian midfielder, who has played only 45 minutes in the last five matches, could be a key player against Tottenham. Ødegaard’s form has been a topic of debate, with only one goal this season and just two in the league last year. However, Arteta acknowledges the difficulties the player has faced, stating: “The percentage of time he has been available for us has been far from ideal. He has dealt with many injuries, and with several key players out, the team has managed to maintain a high level.”

Arteta expressed understanding for Ødegaard’s frustration, adding: “Injuries are the worst part of our profession when a player goes through a sequence of events like this. I understand how Martin wants to be involved with the team; it’s difficult.” With their gaze fixed on the battle against Tottenham, Arsenal needs not only talent but also courage and resilience to face the storm ahead. The question remains: are the players ready to bear the weight of the noise and the bullets, or will the title dream fade away once more?
