The forward of Manchester United, Benjamin Sesko, revealed how he managed to turn things around after a difficult start at the club, diving into an exceptional form that promises to leave fans ecstatic. After a stunning performance in the last match, Sesko stood out again by coming off the bench and scoring the winning goal against Everton on Monday night.
The goal that earned him fame was a true spectacle, where his blistering speed left James Tarkowski behind, culminating in a superb finish that sealed a devastating counter-attack. This goal marks Sesko’s third since Michael Carrick took charge of the team, and all of his shots have been crucial in securing points. Prior to this, he had already been the hero in the victory over Fulham and also salvaged a point against West Ham with a late goal. For those who thought luck was not on his side, it is important to note that Sesko achieved all this in just 98 minutes of play, boasting an impressive rate of one goal every 32.66 minutes under Carrick’s management.
After the final whistle, the young forward spoke to reporters and hinted that Carrick and his coaching staff are preparing him to be a starter in the upcoming matches. With such a commanding performance, it is becoming increasingly difficult to justify his place on the bench.
Sesko also gave an interview to Norwegian journalist Jan Aage Fjørtoft, where he admitted that adapting to life at Old Trafford has not been easy. However, with the unconditional support of his teammates, his confidence has been growing. “When I saw the ball being passed to Brian, I knew I could get ahead of the defender because I believed I would be able to receive the ball,” the forward confessed.
Regarding the difficulty of scoring, Sesko stated: “No, no. In a situation like this, I would say it’s one of the hardest, because you have so much time and can think in various ways. But it’s really important to choose a decision and put 100% into it.” As for his role in the team, the young forward explained: “For me, it’s important to prepare myself already, not just when the game starts, for whatever time I play. I’m here to help the team, I want to score goals and that’s crucial.”
The pressure of arriving in England with a hefty price tag on his shoulders was also discussed. “At first, it’s a bit difficult because everything is new. But I received a lot of support from my teammates, which is very important. They helped me adapt, and I feel that my confidence is growing, and that’s what really matters.”
Sesko also outlined his ambitions, both for Manchester United and for himself: “For Manchester United, definitely, the goal is to reach the Champions League — that is very important to us. And for me, I will continue to work and see how far I can go.”
The Slovenian forward and his team are back in action next Sunday when they host Crystal Palace, and with this momentum, expectations surrounding his performance are only rising. Fans can expect more magic from Benjamin Sesko, who promises to shine even brighter under the lights of Old Trafford.
