Yan Diomande expressed his joy following the confirmation of his transfer from RB Leipzig to Real Madrid, a moment he described as the realization of a childhood dream. On Thursday, the Spanish club officially announced the signing of the Ivorian winger, who did not hide his gratitude towards the German team, which believed in him when he was still a relatively unknown player.

“I am incredibly grateful to RB Leipzig. The club and its management believed in me a year ago, even when I had only played a few professional games. They put their trust in me and gave me the opportunity to establish myself at the highest level,” Diomande stated in a statement published on the RB Leipzig website. The player, who was signed by Leipzig from CD Leganés for 20 million euros, emphasized the importance of his experience in the Bundesliga, where he stood out as one of the revelations of the 2025/26 season.

“I managed to establish myself in one of the best leagues in Europe, earn my place in the Côte d'Ivoire national team, and represent my country in the biggest competition of all, the FIFA World Cup. None of this would have been possible without RB Leipzig, and for that, I will always be grateful,” added the Ivorian international, visibly excited about this new chapter in his career at Real Madrid.

Diomande did not hold back in praising the Leipzig fans, thanking them for their unwavering support since the beginning of his journey. “To the fans, thank you for your incredible support from the very first moment. Your passion, your belief in me, and your encouragement meant more than words can express. I will always be grateful for the love you have shown me,” he said, highlighting the importance of the bond he formed with the club.

The player also shared his excitement about starting this new chapter in his career, revealing that leaving Leipzig was not an easy decision. “I am excited about what is to come and I will always look back with immense pride on my time in Leipzig. This club will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will continue to follow its journey closely. Who knows? Perhaps we will meet again one day in the Champions League. Thank you for everything,” Diomande concluded in his farewell message.
