Gian Piero Gasperini issues a clear warning: “Roma cannot fail, but they are in great form.” After a resounding 4-0 victory over Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico, the Italian coach reveals total confidence in the fierce battle for a top 4 spot in Serie A. With a dominant display and four different scorers shining, the Roman team is ready to fight until the end.

The night in Rome was a celebration for the Giallorossi. Gianluca Mancini opened the scoring with a precise header following a free-kick, and goals from Wesley and Mario Hermoso closed the first half with an impressive 3-0 lead, making victory seem assured. Niccolò Pisilli sealed the result in the second half, assisted by the tireless Donyell Malen, who also hit the crossbar twice.

Gasperini does not hide his satisfaction and confidence: “We changed our attack midway through the season, we are scoring many more goals, although we have also conceded more. It was important to have four different scorers, with quality plays. We are in a good moment, but we know that every game is balanced, and we cannot make mistakes if we want to stay in the race.” The coach also emphasizes that he has always believed in the team’s potential: “I saw that we could recover players and, with the full squad, achieve a series of good results. The potential is much stronger.”

With this victory, Roma dangerously closes in on fourth place, now just one point behind Juventus and three points behind Milan, who occupy third place. The battle for qualification to the Champions League is heating up, with Como also in contention, just two points behind the Romans.

Gasperini praises the mindset of the group: “This is a very strong team. From day one, I never had to strictly control the players’ attitude. The response in recent weeks has been even more determined. There is a great unity between me and the players, and we will fight until the end to achieve a goal we have desired since the beginning of the season.”

The arrival of Donyell Malen, signed in January from Aston Villa, has changed the offensive landscape for Roma, but the future of the attack remains uncertain. With Paulo Dybala’s contract expiring and several injuries affecting the team throughout the season — including prolonged absences of Dybala, Soulé, El Shaarawy, Dovbyk, and Ferguson — resilience has been the order of the day. “Despite everything, these players gave their all on the field, I cannot criticize their attitude. Today they seem stronger than ever. There are three games left, and we know we have to give our maximum and hope that our opponents slip up.”

The positive news is the return of Manu Kone to the starting eleven after a muscle injury since March, strengthening a defense that has been one of the best in Europe at various points this season. “We lost some players and that cost us dearly, but now we are getting the initial team back along with Malen, and that makes it easier to achieve results,” adds Gasperini.

With members of the Friedkin family present in the stands, all eyes are on the future of Roma. Gasperini remains fully focused on the present but leaves the door open for discussions about reinforcements: “As I said, I am focused on the present. When the time comes, we will talk about the future.”

Roma is alive, strong, and determined — and the race for the Champions League will be an epic battle until the last minute. Who will give in? The answer is coming.
