Nelly Korda, the star of women’s golf, may not be present at the highly anticipated HSBC Women’s World Championship this week, but that doesn’t mean she is resting. Instead, the American champion is using the break to intensify her training in her home gym in Florida. Last Wednesday, February 25, Korda shared a short video on her Instagram, where she is seen performing a single-leg Romanian deadlift while holding kettlebells in both hands. The golfer’s sporty look includes a comfortable gray Nike sweatshirt, tight black leggings, white socks, and white sneakers, with her hair tied up in a high bun. “I love my home gym,” she wrote in the caption, referencing the Nike Strength brand.

Korda’s absence from the competition, taking place at the Tanjong Course of the Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore from February 26 to March 1, 2026, marks the second consecutive event she has missed, having also skipped the Honda LPGA Thailand the previous week. In 2026, the champion plans a lighter schedule, aiming to participate in only 18 to 20 tournaments, a significant reduction from the more than 20 events she competed in the previous year. Korda has expressed a desire to have more rest time and to avoid competing for more than three consecutive weeks to prevent injuries.

So far, Korda has competed only once this season, winning the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions with an impressive score of 13 under par. But when will the golfer return to action? Although she has yet to confirm her next tournament, her recent schedule suggests she may return at the Cognizant Founders Cup (March 19-22) or the Ford Championship (March 26-29), both of which are upcoming events on the LPGA calendar. Last year, Korda finished T7 and T22 in those tournaments, but there are no guarantees that she will play in either of them this time.

A confirmed date on Korda’s schedule is her participation in the MÉXICO Riviera Maya Open, scheduled for April 30 to May 3 at El Camaleón Golf Course. This event will mark the golfer’s debut in the competition and will be her first participation in an LPGA tournament in Mexico. The course will already feature big names, including Lydia Ko and Mexican players Gaby López, Isabella Fierro, and María Fassi.

Nelly Korda kicked off the 2026 season in the best possible way, winning the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in Orlando, a feat that marks the 16th title of her career, including two major championships. Additionally, she had a consistent performance in the previous season, participating in 19 events and making the cut in all of them, with nine top-10 finishes, including runner-up results at the season opener and the U.S. Women’s Open. The Mayakoba event represents the LPGA’s return to Mexico, and Korda’s participation brings one of the tour’s biggest stars to its second edition, promising to further elevate the level of competition.
