Scottie Scheffler, the golf prodigy who is dazzling the world with his skills on the course, has revealed a more personal and inspiring side of his life: the crucial role his wife, Meredith, plays in his successful career on the PGA Tour. As Scheffler, currently ranked number one in the world, racks up impressive victories and records, he does not hesitate to attribute much of his success to the strong partnership he has built with Meredith, which began when they were just teenagers.

The 27-year-old golfer does not limit his acknowledgment to Meredith’s emotional support but emphasizes the importance of her practical contributions to his performance. “I have a set time to practice, and I feel that if things aren’t right at home – if we have conflicts or there’s something that needs to be discussed – that will always enter my mind,” Scheffler confesses. “Mere has always been really good at sensing when something isn’t right in my head and trying to bring that out of me.”

Scottie highlights that the real help from Meredith comes from her ability to provide him with the space and support needed to dedicate himself to golf. “We both understand well the sacrifices that are necessary to do something with excellence. I was called to play professional golf, and that requires time and sacrifices from my family. Meredith has been amazing, sacrificing nearly half of her life on the road with me so that we can be together as a family.” This dedication is evident, as Meredith not only accompanies him to tournaments but also takes on the responsibility of keeping their home in order, allowing Scottie to focus on his career.

The couple, who met in high school, faced the challenges of university life apart, but they never let distance separate them. After marrying in 2020, Meredith committed to supporting Scottie in all his competitions, even when it meant spending months on the road. A defining moment came during his victory at the Masters in 2022, when the pressure nearly overwhelmed him, but Meredith was there, helping him stay calm and focused.

Meredith, who also has a career as the director of a nonprofit organization, prioritizes attending her husband’s tournaments. After his victory at the Memorial in 2025, Scottie could not hold back tears as he spoke about his wife’s unwavering support. “You’re really trying to make me emotional right now. My wife is my biggest supporter; she’s my best friend,” Scheffler declared. “This is our life on the road, and it’s been a lot of fun.”

The arrival of their son, Bennett, in May 2024, brought even more joy to the family. Since then, Scottie and Meredith have traveled together as a family to every tournament, reinforcing the idea that Scheffler’s success is not only measured in trophies but also in intimate moments with those he loves. “My identity is not a result of golf,” says Scheffler, reflecting on how Meredith reminds him of what truly matters. “She told me that no matter if I win or lose a tournament, she will always love me the same.”

Additionally, his dedication to family is mutual. Scottie also makes a point of being home whenever he can, opting not to participate in tournaments if it means missing moments with Meredith and Bennett. “If I’m at home, I’m trying to be with Mere. I don’t want to spend all my time practicing, wishing I was home,” he states.

This symbiosis between family life and professional career has been the key to Scheffler’s tremendous success. Since marrying in 2020, his career has skyrocketed, winning significant titles, including two Masters and a gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games. In 2025, he continued his winning streak with the PGA and The Open, establishing himself as one of the most feared golfers on the circuit.

As he prepares for upcoming challenges like the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship, the stability he has found at home promises to keep Scottie Scheffler as a strong contender for more victories. With a clear mind and family by his side, Scheffler is not only winning tournaments; he is building a legacy that proves the foundation of true success begins at home.
