The countdown to one of the most anticipated events in golf has begun! The 90th edition of the Masters is about to kick off its journey at the legendary Augusta National Golf Club, where the best players in the world gather in search of the coveted green jacket. After a spectacular year, in which Rory McIlroy claimed his fifth major title and completed his career Grand Slam, expectations are high for what lies ahead.

On Tuesday, Augusta National released its annual media guide for the Masters, revealing changes to the course that fans and players should be aware of. This edition of the tournament promises excitement, but there is one significant alteration that stands out, especially in the closing stretch of what promises to be a memorable tournament.

The buzz revolves around the 17th hole, known as Nandina, which has undergone a crucial modification. The front of the tee has been shortened by 12 yards, with the tee marker being moved, leading to a change in the Masters’ scorecard to 450 yards. In 2025, the par-4 Nandina already stood out as the fourth hardest hole of the tournament, with an average score of 4.230. At this hole, McIlroy made a birdie that gave him a one-shot lead before facing a bogey that led him to an exciting playoff with Justin Rose.

“It’s almost time to smell the azaleas, but when it comes to the golf course in 2026, the par-72 layout will measure 7,565 yards,” club officials state, promising an even greater challenge for competitors.

As we approach the event, the excitement is only growing, and all eyes will be on Augusta, where tradition meets talent. Get ready for a golf spectacle that will remain in the memory of all enthusiasts. The Masters is about to begin, and emotions are running high!
