The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2026 came to a close on February 15, and the tournament proved to be a rollercoaster for many renowned golfers. While Collin Morikawa celebrated his return to the winner’s circle with an impressive performance, other prominent players left much to be desired. Under the heat of competition, some names expected to be at the top of the leaderboard disappointed fans and experts alike, leading to a critical analysis of their performances.

Among the worst performances of the event was Sahith Theegala, who, after a series of three finishes in the top 20, fell to a disappointing T60. Theegala, who had been a sensation in previous tournaments, struggled at Pebble Beach, tallying 16 birdies but also accumulating eleven bogeys, a performance that surely cost him both prestige and prize money.

Cameron Young, another promising talent, also failed to meet expectations. Despite finishing T41 at the WM Phoenix Open, Young arrived at Pebble Beach as one of the favorites, rated at +2700. However, his performance was below par, with rounds of 68, 70, 71, and 72 leaving him at T55, far from what was anticipated of him.

Viktor Hovland, one of the most recognized faces on the PGA Tour, had a disappointing week, finishing T58 with a total of 6 under par. With a scoreline of 70, 69, 71, and 72, Hovland found himself 16 strokes behind the leader, which was certainly not the result he was hoping for.

Si Woo Kim, who started strong with a 67, appeared to be on track for another good finish. However, his performance crumbled with two rounds of 74 and 72 that dashed his aspirations. Despite finishing the week with a solid 65, Kim ended up T45, likely feeling frustrated about what could have been.

Lastly, Michael Thorbjornsen, who had promised a good performance after an opening round of 68, saw his situation deteriorate rapidly. With scores of 77, 73, and 79 in the following days, Thorbjornsen finished in last place, totaling only eight birdies over four days while making ten bogeys and one double bogey. His performance was a total disappointment, reflecting the intensity of the competition at Pebble Beach.

Overall, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2026 was an event of contrasts, with some stars shining and others fading. The pressure and competitiveness of professional golf are always high, and while some players manage to rise to the occasion, others, like those mentioned, face the harsh reality of the sport.
