Flavio Cobolli delivers a masterclass in tennis at Roland Garros, advancing confidently to the fourth round by crushing Learner Tien with a decisive victory of 6-2, 6-2, 6-3. From the very first point, the young Italian displayed fierce determination and impressive maturity, confirming that he is making solid strides towards stardom in the French tournament.

The match began with Tien showing signs of nervousness, committing a double fault early on during one of the first opportunities given to his opponent. Cobolli, quick to recognize his rival’s fragility, seized the moment to impose his rhythm and quickly doubled his advantage, thanks to nearly unyielding defense. Although the American managed to recover one of the breaks, his inconsistency betrayed him again with another double fault, which made Cobolli’s task easier, and he did not waste the opportunity, consolidating his lead.

In the second set, the story repeated itself as Cobolli raced to a comfortable 3-0 lead, breaking Tien’s serve twice—once capitalizing on a glaring error from his opponent and the other with an aggressive return that nullified an excellent forehand. Despite Tien saving two set points, the Italian dominance remained steadfast, merely postponing the inevitable conclusion for a brief moment.

The third set did not bring significant changes, with Cobolli sending a clear message from the first game by surprising Tien with his serve. The American improved his consistency, especially on serve, but his stamina was not enough to avoid a heavy defeat. This victory puts Cobolli in a privileged position, now preparing for a decisive clash against the winner of the match between Francisco Cerundolo and Zachary Svajda, in an exciting fifth set on Court 14.
