“Arsenal agrees on million-dollar transfer for Trossard’s successor.”

Arsenal has secured an agreement to sign Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge for $46 million (approximately €40 million), in a move aimed at replacing Leandro Trossard, who recently transferred to Beşiktaş for $22.9 million. The London club wasted no time in securing a successor for the Belgian winger, bolstering their attacking line following the signings of Piero Hincapié and backup goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

Tzolis, 24, returns to the Premier League after spending two seasons with Norwich City, where he faced initial struggles. His development took off in Germany with Fortuna Düsseldorf, where he scored 24 goals in 37 appearances during the 2023-24 season. His transfer to Club Brugge proved successful, as he contributed 51 goals and assists last season, demonstrating his key role in the Belgian attack.

The Greek international is known for his blazing speed and relentless work rate in the defensive process, leading ball recovery in the last line of defense at Club Brugge. In the last season of the Pro League, he stood out as the top assist provider (23 assists) and creator of goal-scoring opportunities (135), confirming himself as a versatile winger, although he prefers to play on the left side, exactly the position that Trossard occupied at the Gunners.

Before finalizing the deal with Tzolis, Arsenal reportedly explored the possibility of signing young Turkish player Kenan Yıldız, 21, from Juventus, but the Italian club rejected the sale. The arrival of the Greek does not signify the end of the market for Mikel Arteta's team, which continues to show interest in Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, and is keeping an eye on other offensive options, such as Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain and Julián Álvarez.

This signing reinforces Arsenal's ambition to remain competitive in the Premier League, betting on a young prospect who combines offensive talent with strong physical and defensive intensity. The challenge now is for Tzolis to adapt quickly to the pace and demands of English football, providing a credible and effective alternative for the reigning champions' attack.
