“Atlético Madrid ignores Vinícius Júnior and creates controversy in European football.”

The tension between Atlético de Madrid and Vinícius Júnior has flared up again following the latest clash between the colchoneros and Real Madrid, where the Brazilian was a true nightmare for the rival team. With a brilliant performance, Vinícius Júnior sealed Real Madrid’s 3-2 victory, scoring two crucial goals. However, the way Atlético Madrid communicated the events on social media raised many questions and sparked a wave of outrage among fans.

Immediately after Vinícius scored his first goal from a penalty, Atlético Madrid’s official account chose not to mention the player’s name. Instead, the update simply stated: “Real Madrid equalizes from a penalty.” The situation became even more controversial when, for the second goal, the club credited Federico Valverde, again ignoring Vinícius’s impact by scoring the decisive goal that put the merengues ahead on the scoreboard. Atlético’s tweet merely said: “Goal for the home team.”

This communication strategy did not go unnoticed by users of platform X, who quickly began to question the omission. Comments such as “Don’t they know the name?”, “Say the name” and “Why is it that when Vini scores they don’t say who it was?” flooded the posts, highlighting the frustration of fans and the growing rivalry between the player and the rival club.

The animosity between Vinícius Júnior and Atlético is not new. This season, after the semi-final of the Supercopa de España, which culminated in a 2-1 victory for Real Madrid, Diego Simeone provoked the Brazilian by suggesting that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez might dismiss Vinícius. Vinícius’s response to that provocation was, at the very least, clever: “The president always tells me that I have to score two goals, and today I scored two, they are for him.”

The atmosphere of rivalry and provocations between the two clubs continues to heat up, promising more exciting episodes in future competitions. With Vinícius Júnior shining on the pitch and responding to these provocations incisively, football fans are eager for more clashes that could further intensify this dispute.
