FC Porto is experiencing a moment of great enthusiasm regarding membership, and the numbers do not lie. With over 21,700 new members registered so far this season, the blue and white institution has achieved an impressive growth of 17.4%, a milestone that attests to the success of its modernization and inclusion strategy. The main driver of this revolution? The Member Portal, a digital platform launched a year ago, which not only facilitated the registration process but also became an integral part of the club’s vision for the future.

“70% of registrations were online,” emphasizes the management, highlighting the effectiveness of the new platform that has made membership more accessible and attractive. The administration led by André Villas-Boas has done a remarkable job of placing members at the forefront, and the results speak for themselves. With 21,763 new registrations since the start of the season, FC Porto has not only broken records but is also on track to reach 180,000 members.

Comparing to last season, when the club had 147,759 members, the current numbers are impressive: 173,515 members as of February, revealing robust and sustainable growth. The monthly average of new memberships has skyrocketed to nearly 2,400, a significant evolution compared to the 825 from the previous year. This growth is even more remarkable considering that about 15% of the new members are correspondents and nearly 8% reside outside Portugal. The average age of new members is just 26.4 years, reflecting a youth eager to join the FC Porto family, while the oldest member to register through the digital platform is 90 years old. Interestingly, 187 new registrations occurred on their birthday, showing that love for the club starts early.

However, this growth cannot be attributed solely to the Member Portal. It is true that the upward trend was already visible before the platform’s launch. Nevertheless, the simplification of the registration process, which allows for the instant issuance of a digital card and eliminates the need for physical travel, has been a decisive change for many. This modern approach, which prioritizes the member experience, is transforming FC Porto into a benchmark for membership in Portuguese sports.

With a promising future ahead, FC Porto continues to demonstrate that modernization and inclusion are key to sustainable growth. The Member Portal is not just an innovation, but a fundamental pillar in building a solid fan base that will undoubtedly support the club’s greatness in the years to come.
