Manchester United is counting down the days to bid farewell to Casemiro, but replacing the Brazilian colossus will be a Herculean task for the Red Devils. After shining brightly at Real Madrid and winning the Champions League five times, Casemiro arrived at Old Trafford in 2022, a true masterstroke by the English club. His debut was glorious, helping the team secure the League Cup in his very first season.

Despite a less stellar period in the following seasons, the 34-year-old midfielder has returned to showcase his best football this season, proving he still has much to give. However, the future is set: Casemiro has announced that he will not renew his contract, which expires this summer, and is preparing to leave Manchester United.

But before leaving, the Brazilian wants to leave an indelible mark in the club’s history. And he is succeeding. Proof of this is the recognition he has just received: Casemiro has been named Player of the Month for April by the fans of Manchester United. This award, resulting from a vote via the club’s official website and app, crowned the midfielder after a sensational month.

In recent matches, Casemiro scored crucial goals, including in the 2-1 defeat against Leeds United and in the 2-1 victory over Brentford. His finishing ability has been an extra asset for the Red Devils, but what truly impresses is his tireless commitment on the pitch. The Brazilian has done exemplary dirty work, holding the advantage against powerful opponents like Chelsea and resisting Brentford’s advances in an intense duel.

In the public voting, Casemiro garnered 44% of the votes, surpassing captain Bruno Fernandes, who received 38%. In third place was Kobbie Mainoo, a young player who has developed a remarkable chemistry with the veteran, with 19% of the votes.

In addition to the Player of the Month, Manchester United also announced the winner of the Goal of the Month award. Matheus Cunha took the prize with a magnificent goal against Chelsea, securing three points at Old Trafford. The Brazilian, who missed the following game against Brentford, benefited from a brilliant assist by Bruno Fernandes and finished with a first-time shot that left the fans in awe, garnering 49% of the votes.

Additional highlights include Sesko’s fantastic goal against Brentford, which came in second place with 26% of the votes, and two other goals from Casemiro – the header against Brentford, with 14%, and the consolation goal against Leeds, with 11%.

Casemiro is thus closing his time at Manchester United in style, making it clear that his departure will be a tremendous loss. The club’s management now has the task of finding a worthy successor to this true midfield monster. Until then, fans can only enjoy the spectacle that Casemiro continues to provide in every game.
